A common sense solution for those who wish to learn to drive standard plus
get all the benefits of the ministry-approved Beginner Driver Education Course:
12 hours of private, one-on-one, in-car instruction split as follows:
4 hours of expert manual shift training where the student is taught how to handle a “stick shift” correctly and safely (with a ProShift instructor working under contract with the course providers listed below).
8 hours in an automatic vehicle where the focus is on rules of the road, defensive driving, and road test preparation. You can also make arrangements to use the instructor’s car for your road test if you don’t have access to an automatic...
The Course also includes 20 hours of in-class instruction
(at any of our Partners' convenient classroom locations)
Upon successful completion of the course, you will be certified through the MTO.
This certification is recognized by the Insurance industry (it may lower your rate), and it allows you to shorten
the waiting time for the Level 1 road test to 8 months (instead of one year). For more information, please contact one of the schools listed below.
